Being a member of the ECWS is not just about battles or living histories. The social side of the hobby is vast. You will meet new friends, like-minded people who you can share relaxing times with. After the battles there is plenty of evening activity - visit the beer tent and hear the live band, go to a local pub with other members of the regiment, sit around the campfire to enjoy the singing or just relax in a small group around the tents.

During the summer season the regiment holds an open air feast including spit roast meats and seventeenth-century food. Out of season the regiment meets up about every four to six weeks at various social events organised around the country. The annual seventeenth-century banquet is a must where you can enjoy authentic food, wear your smartest costume all in beautiful period surroundings.

Finally, the Regiment is a real family affair, all are welcome from the very young to the very old, all can find a role. It is certainly a good way to get away from the general stresses of twenty first century life.
