I note with great sadness the passing of Ian Challender. Ian was my right hand marker, corparol, sergeant, ensign and eventual replacement in Blackwell's Shotte, many years ago, not to mention a bit of a mucker.

I hope you will pass my respects and sympathy to Jean at this time (I can't post in your main forum area).

May I add my condolences. I heard about Ian after exchanging emails with Chrissy Wisken regarding a costuming project...

"For I know I have and I feel I have a sweet hope of glory in my soul..."

Chris, I wish I was somewhere near where you are on Tuesday so we could sing it the way Ian loved to hear it... I'm going to grab my guitar and sing it anyway.

May I express my great shock and sadness to hear of Ian`s death. My condolances go out to Jean, and Ian`s family.He was a great asset to the regiment and a dear friend I will miss his rendition of several well loved songs and his sense of humour. Rest in peace mate.
